How Samantha got the nickname, "Punkie Pie"...
One fall when Samantha was 3, her sister...or should I say "ditter", Stormie, took her to the zoo. While there, they saw a lot of pumkins that the zoo keepers fed the chimps and apes. (There is another story regarding that time I will let Stormie tell). Samantha had also been learning about pumpkins from some of the children's tv shows she watched, and knew that is what you made pumpkin pies from. Each fall, I decorate the mantel with lots of fall leaves and different pumpklns and gords. This particular fall, after I decorated the mantle, she asked her sister why mommy put all of the punkie pies up there. We thought it was so cute that she called them that. And from that point forward, Stormie started calling her "Punkie Pie", as did I.
